The union that represents both teachers and coaches at the State System of Higher Education announced its membership have ratified their respective four-year agreements.
APSCUF announced that of the faculty members that voted, 96% of them were in favor of the agreement, while 99% of the coach members approved their agreement. With the agreements ratified, they will now go to the State System Board of Governors for final approval. In a statement, APSCUF president Dr. Kenneth Mash said that the agreements “are the product of countless hours of hard work by faculty, coaches and the System’s management.” He said that it resulted in what they felt were fair and reasonable contracts that will allow the faculty and coaches to “provide students with a high-quality education while being conscious of college costs.”
Until the new agreements are ratified by the board of governors, the prior contracts will remain in effect. Those contracts expired in June of last year.
Details on the agreements will not be released until the State System approves them.
