Indiana, Armstrong and Westmoreland Counties remain under a flood warning until 8:00 this morning, but in Clymer, flood waters receded very quickly to allow people who were evacuated back into their homes.
John Gromley with Clymer fire department said that the waters of Two Lick Creek receded throughout the day, and while it was still high, it was enough to allow the 50 or so people who took part in a voluntary evacuation to return home, but they were still keeping an eye on the sky and said it was still stressful.
He added that the town had a lot of support from surrounding first responder agencies, the county emergency management agency, and even food vendors in town making donations of food and drink to the emergency shelter that was set up.
The floods though have triggered two school delays. Armstrong School District is on a two-hour delay this morning due to the flooding. And Ligonier Valley school district is switching to a flexible instruction day after a two-hour delay to the start of class.
