Jean Blair, 88, Indiana. passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of John Don Lockhart and Margaret (North) Lochart. She was born August 19 1935.
Jean was born and raised in Indiana County. She attended Punxsutawney High School. At 16 she attended Juniata College for prerequisite college classes. She then went on to Pittsburgh School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science degree. Several years later she received a Masters Degree from Pitt University. She went on to teach nursing at IUP. She was also a devoted member of Calvary Presbyterian Church of Indiana.
Jean loved to read. Everyone considered her to be a very kind and considerate person and educator. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving is her husband Sidney Newman Blair, Indiana; children Keith (Robin) Blair, Indiana; Nancy Blair, Indiana; and daughter-in-law Julie Blair, State College; grandchildren Corey Blair, State College; Aaron Blair, Mount Washington; Maggie Blair, State College; and April Blair, Indiana.
Preceding Jean in death were her parents; brothers Donald and Philip Lockhart; and son David Blair
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Monday, April 1, from 5 to 7 at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. David J. Hanna officiating.
A private interment will take place at Gilgal Cemetery. Marion Center, Pa.
