BASEBALL
Mount Pleasant scored three runs in the 5th and 4 in the 6th to defeat River Valley, 9-2. The Panthers managed five hits, including doubles by Merreck Smith and Niko Vadala.
Conemaugh Township trounced Penns Manor, 20-0. Luke Weber had two hits and five RBIs. Colin Dinyar also had two hits and drove in three for the Indians.
SOFTBALL
West Shamokin scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning and followed it up with 5 more in the 6th to beat Indiana, 15-5. Maria Young and Malena Stewart each had three hits and Stewart had two doubles and three RBIs. Briar McClafferty and Avery Elkin each drew three walks and Lily Jordan walked twice. For Indiana, Maggie Cunningham had two hits, both home runs, and Olivia Zimmerman had two hits, including a double.
Penns Manor’s Katie Bertolino had three hits and drove in two runs as the Comets beat Conemaugh Township, 12-5. Morgan Jioio had two hits, including a triple, for PM.
TRACK & FIELD
United’s boys beat Portage, 92-58.
In a tri-meet, Conemaugh Township’s boys won twice, topping Penns Manor, 113-31 and Homer-Center, 90-58. Homer-Center beat Penns Manor, 90-49.
Conemaugh Township also won twice in the girls tri-meet, beating Penns Manor, 103-47 and Homer-Center, 132-18. Penns Manor downed Homer-Center, 89-39.
LACROSSE
Indiana drubbed Latrobe, 17-3, as Kate Lehman and Gianna Brody each scored four goals.
