At Gobbler’s Knob this morning, Punxsutawney Phil arose from his nap to make his prognostication as to whether we will see an early spring or extended winter.
The announcement was made by Dan McGinley, Vice President of the Groundhog Club Inner Circle.
Prior to his prediction, Governor Josh Shapiro announced a special title for Puxsutawney Phil.
This year marks the 137th celebration of Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney and just the 20th time where Phil did not see his shadow. While there are 11 years where Groundhog Day Records were not kept, Phil has seen his shadow 107 times as to predict six more weeks of winter as of this morning.
