GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Heritage Conference West girls basketball “Road to the KCAC” semifinals will finally be set after tonight’s games featuring West Shamokin at Penns Manor and River Valley at Marion Center.
With a win over West Shamokin, Penns Manor would clinch first place and the right to host United in the semis on Tuesday. Second place would go to the winner between Marion Center and River Valley, with that team traveling to Portage on Tuesday.
If Penns Manor is upset by West Shamokin, Marion Center finishes in first with a win over River Valley and Penns Manor finishes second. If the Comets lose their game and River Valley beats Marion Center, Penns Manor finishes first in the West, with River Valley second.

After losing a close game to Penns Manor on Wednesday, River Valley coach Ricc Brown says his team will look to clamp down on Marion Center’s offense.
Marion Center coach Amy Trimble says it’s high stakes basketball.
Tonight’s Marion Center/River Valley game will be on Cat Country 106.3 FM, airing at around 7:15.
Also on the air tonight, the Homer-Center girls will host Purchase Line on WCCS.
The Indiana girls are rolling toward the WPIAL playoffs and they picked up another win last night. Jake Slebodnick was there.
BOYS BASKETBALL
On 92.5 FM U92 last night, Penns Manor closed its season with a trip to West Shamokin. Todd Marino reports.
Wolves coach Judd McCullough says his team can use the physicality of last night’s game to help them get ready for Conemaugh Township.
River Valley got 16 points from Jeremy Reed and clipped Marion Center, 60-57. Dom Speal had 12 and Luke Woodring 10 for the Panthers.
Trae Kargo and Bode Layo each scored 20 points and Portage continued its late-season surge with a 59-50 win over United. Carter Payne scored 20 and Isaac Worthington 11 for the Lions.
Homer-Center rolled over Purchase Line, 67-36. Max Voyda scored 22 and Angelo Alexander 12 for the Wildcats. Brock Small had 10 for the Red Dragons.
RIFLE
Indiana Rifle lost to Butler by a score of 799-60x to 781-38x. Top shooters for Indiana were Emelia Campisano with a 100-7x and Sarah Genchur with a 100-6x. They finish their season with a record of 3-11 overall, 1-9 in the section.
