Today is Veterans’ Day, which is set aside to pay tribute to those who served our country, and several events are planned for today in several communities.

The parade will be followed by a memorial service at the Blairsville Veterans Memorial. A luncheon will be hosted by the Blairsville VFW for veterans and families of veterans following the ceremony. And tonight, there will be a special program of patriotic music by the Blairsville Community Band at the River Valley Senior High School Auditorium. Admission the concert is free, but a goodwill donation may be made.
Clymer is also holding a special ceremony for veterans today. That starts at 1:00 today at the Veterans’ Memorial at Tate Park.
And Indiana will have its traditional parade starting at 10:30 going along Philadelphia Street from 5th to 9th Streets. After the parade will be a special ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Wall next to the courthouse to dedicate a new portion of the memorial to build a new wall, and to hold bridge dedication ceremonies for George Holuta and Carl Roof.
