Citizens lined Philadelphia Street from 5th to 9th to pay tribute to the veterans who served our country both alive and dead. Over 30 units marched in the parade that was organized by the Indiana VFW and American Legion posts.
After the parade, a special ceremony was held near the Indiana Veterans Memorial Wall to pay tribute to three Indiana County Veterans. Two of them, Carl Roof and George Holuta were honored with bridges that have been renamed in their honor. Roof’s bridge goes over a portion of Crooked Creek in Armstrong Township and Holuta’s bridge carries Route 403 over Yellow Creek in Pine Township. Indiana County Veterans’ Affairs Director Allen Lockard talked about the process it takes to re-name a bridge.
Ceremonies to rededicate those bridges were to be held in 2020, but they were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also, Domenic P. Rocco, Jr. was honored by Indiana County Sheriff Bob Fyock for his dedication and support to erect and continue the Indiana County Memorial Wall.
