One of the major races in this year’s general election was that for the district magistrate’s seat for Indiana Borough and portions of White Township, and according to unofficial results, Tony Sottile is expected to win.
With all 69 precincts reporting in, Sottile garnered 1,653 votes as the Republican nomination while AnnMarie Everett collected 1,431 votes as the Democratic nominee. He said one thing he really enjoyed about his campaign was meeting different people.
Everett thanked all of her supporters and said she remains committed to serving those in the community.
Sottile will take over for the retiring Guy Haberl as District Magistrate in Indiana Borough and portions of White Township.
A reminder all results are unofficial until votes are certified.
