Concerns about the Cathy’s Hope halfway house that raised by members of the public included security for the facility, and the safety of the community and how successful the program would be. Borough Council president Matthew Black said that he wasn’t against the mission of the facility, but he was also concerned about those coming from out of town.
Arlene Wanatosky showed her support for the center, saying that it would do a lot of good for women who are recovering from addiction.
Another concern that was addressed by Krystal Martin, the acting clinical director of Cathy’s Hope, was the fact that the facility would have to follow strict rules. She said that she understands people’s hesitation.
The facility still plans to open in spring of next year.
