A Blairsville man was sentenced Monday morning for charges stemming back to January 2022.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi said in a news release 28-year-old Steven Aukerman was sentenced to serve 18 to 36 months in a state correctional facility for a charge of possession with intent to distribute less than a gram of fentanyl, a charge he pleaded guilty to on September 1.
State police were called to a home in Burrell Township on January 6, 2022, for a disturbance and, upon arrival, observed Aukerman under the influence of controlled substances. A search of the property turned up controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Aukerman also admitted to selling drugs across Indiana County.
Manzi credited the quick work of law enforcement officials to the quote, “great deal of training and experience investigating drug possession and trafficking cases.” He adds they will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute drug dealing in the community.
