A Philadelphia man was sentenced yesterday for his part in a narcotics distribution and money laundering scheme.
Senior US District Judge Kim Gibson ordered 28-year-old Jelahan Williams, also known as “Boog,” to serve 12-and-a-half years along with five years of probation. He had pleaded guilty on August 9th of last year to conspiracy to distribute drugs and money laundering for incidents between July 5th of 2018 and May 5th of 2020 in western Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
Authorities said that he tried to distribute 50 or more grams of meth, 500 grams or more of a meth-based mixture, 28 grams or more of crack cocaine and 40 grams or more of a heroin-fentanyl mix. The investigation showed that Williams obtained the drugs in Philadelphia and brought them to his home in Indiana.
He was originally scheduled to be sentenced on December 14th of last year.
