PennDOT has announced that Margaret Road in Armstrong County will reopen next Sunday.
The road has been closed since July 24th as crews worked on completing excavation and drainage work as part of the Margaret Road Intersection Project. Work on the intersection is continuing with the construction of two new temporary roads, one at each end of the project area, to allow for new road tie-ins onto Route 422. This includes excavation, temporary drainage and paving. Traffic will be moved onto the temporary roads later in the year.
Crews are working to realign the roads to improve the existing intersection, sight distance and geometrics along the Route 422 corridor between Indiana and Kittanning and will eventually replace an existing four-way intersection with a T-style one at a point just west of the current intersection.
