A Saltsburg Borough man died in a motorcycle crash early yesterday in Avonmore.
Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson reports the victim was 27-year-old Tate Matthew Kaleda, whose motorcycle left Route 156 on a right-hand curve at about 2:15 AM yesterday, striking a tree. Kaleda was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma to the head. The coroner says speed was likely a factor in the crash.
State police from the Kiski Valley station and Avonmore police are investigating. Toxicology test results are pending.
