The Better Business Bureau is warning people about a scam that is going around concerning links to live streams of high school sporting events.
Scammers are targeting those who may be trying to watch high school sporting events by posting links to what look like free live streams on social media sites, but when you click on the link, you are asked to register for the streaming service with your name, email address and then your credit card number or other pieces of sensitive personal information. The BBB advises people to be careful when clicking links and to watch out for potential red flags. They also advise people check with the school to see if there is a legitimate streaming option available.
Of course, any live stream broadcast on Renda Digital TV is free to everyone to watch on our YouTube channel. You can always find the links to those streams on our website and Facebook pages. We also advise you to not click on links posted by others in the comment sections of our social media sites advertising free streams, as they are not from our site, and could lead you to sites that are either scams or force you to pay to watch.
