Tuesday night, the United School Board approved an agreement with an engineering firm for consulting and engineering services for the elementary school.
The agreement with East Hills Engineering Associates will provide services in connection with the review of the mechanical, engineering and plumbing systems in the elementary school, and reporting on observed existing conditions to use as a basis for the school board to make decisions on upgrades and upkeep projects. A motion that was added to the agenda to have the same company perform a review of the air conditioning system at the same building. Superintendent Dr. Richard Lucas said this is similar to an agreement made for the high school complex.
The board also approved dual enrollment agreements with Westmoreland County Community College and with Mount Aloysius College.
