The Northern Appalachian Folk Festival is underway in Indiana, and Indiana Borough Police have announced some street closures in connection with the festival.
According to a Facebook post from the Indiana Borough Police Department, the following closures start at 8:30 this morning and will run through Midnight Sunday Morning:
- Philadelphia Street from 5th to 7th Streets
- Taylor Avenue from Nixon to Gompers Avenues
- Carpenter Avenue from Nixon to Gompers Avenues
- 6th Street from Nixon to Gompers Avenues
Police also say to expect increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic near the event. Attendees or anyone passing through the area are asked to give themselves extra time when going through.
The festival kicked off last night with a songwriter’s round concert at the Indiana Theater. Vendors and live music will start at 4:00 this afternoon in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street and run through 9:30 PM tonight.
