State police are investigating a case of fraud that happened to a woman in Home this week. Troopers say they were notified on September 6th about a scam through a fake Facebook account that was hacked by an unknown person. The unknown person posed as a “friend” of the 31-year-old woman and asked her to use the Zelle app to send $400 them. After the victim sent the money, she realized that it was a trick. The investigation is ongoing.
An Arcadia man was taken to the hospital Sunday night after a crash in Montgomery Township. State Police say 30-year-old David Woodley of Arcadia was driving East on Cush Creek Road, about 300 west of Arcadia Road. His ATV crossed the center line and hit an embankment several times before rolling. Woodley was thrown five feet away, landing in the westbound lane. He was flown from the scene to Altoona Hospital for treatment of a suspected serious injury. The ATV took on disabling damage. Citizens Ambulance and Commodore and Cherry Tree fire departments assisted on-scene.
