While the Pennsylvania Senate met in special session to pass two fiscal code bills, the PA House is not scheduled to return to session anytime soon.
Republican State Representative Jim Struzzi said on Indiana in the Morning that, as of now, the Democratic Party controls the state house, including the calendar of when the house will meet. As of right now, the house is split 101-101 with a seat vacated in Allegheny County by Sara Innamorato. A special election is scheduled for later this month to fill her seat, but the State House will not return to session until one week after that. Struzzi said he is frustrated by the delay.
Struzzi said he was also frustrated because he has a lot of bills and proclamations that he wants the state house to work on.
The special election is set for September 19th, with the house tentatively scheduled to return to work on the 26th.
