As we enter one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, the cost of gas will be a factor for travelers, and while increases in the national average price have been on hold as of late, Pennsylvania’s average has seen a slight decrease.
Triple-A Reports that the national average gas price this morning is $3.81 a gallon. That’s a drop of a penny over the last week, but an increase of three cents over the last month. Experts say that damage is still being evaluated from Hurricane Idalia that made landfall earlier this week, so the storm has not yet factored into the price of gas.
Pennsylvania’s average is following a similar trend, with the statewide average now at $3.87. That is also a penny less than last week, but is a penny higher than last month.
Indiana County’s average this morning is in line with the state average at $3.87 a gallon, tying it with Jefferson County. The lowest average in the region is Armstrong County at $3.84 a gallon, followed by Westmoreland County at $3.85, Cambria at $3.86, and Clearfield County ten cents higher than that at $3.96.
Gasbuddy.com reports that regular gas prices in Indiana, Homer City, Blairsville and Clymer this morning are at $3.89.
