The Indiana School Board will meet tonight as the school gets ready for its first day of classes later this week.
On the agenda tonight are several motions related to an inclusive playground project at the East Pike Elementary School. Those motions include the acceptance of a $60,000 donation from the East Pike community group, which will be added to $30,000 from the district to pay for the new equipment and its installation. The board will also look to approve the installation of a new drainage system for the new inclusive playground and the current playground at East Pike at an estimated cost of $11,000.
Also on the agenda is a recommendation from the district’s Outreach Committee to have the district take part in the PARSS Research Study on teacher attrition and retention and a recommendation from the Administrative Committee to approve a pilot partnership with Schools PLP at a cost of $240 per student, with the total cost not to exceed $4800.
The meeting will be held tonight at 7:00 in the district’s boardroom at the East Pike office.
