Two people were sentenced yesterday for drug-related crimes.
39-year-old Darryl Higgins, formerly of Indiana but serving time for un-related crimes at SCI-Houtzdale, was ordered to serve two-and-a-half to five years in state prison for a guilty plea to possession with intent to deliver. He was also ordered to pay fines and court costs. This was in connection with an investigation that started on March 16th of last year. As part of the plea deal, a charge of simple possession was not prosecuted.
28-year-old Shayvon Morgan, also of Indiana, but now serving time in the state prison system, was also sentenced yesterday on a charge of possession with intent to deliver. He was ordered to serve two to five years in state prison for the guilty plea, while charges of contraband possession, possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia were not prosecuted. This was related to an investigation that goes back to September 8th of last year.
