On Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved hiring Robert Heinrich as superintendent.
The vote to hire Heinrich was unanimous. Heinrich was excited to be named the new superintendent and said he looks forward to doing more now that he can make more long-term decisions.
In other business, business manager Jared Cronauer said that the district got good news from the state concerning the budget numbers from the recent passage of the state’s spending plan. The numbers for the district came in higher than originally anticipated in the district’s budget, with basic education subsidies almost $450,000 above what was anticipated, and special education coming in $25,000 higher.
The board also accepted with regret the resignation of Junior High Operational Principal Donald Bowers as he is leaving to become the director of education in the United School District. The board has authorized the administration to post and advertise for the position.
