INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
One person was charged following an incident in Indiana Borough Wednesday evening. Indiana Borough Police say they were summoned to reports of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of North 3rd Street around 9:54 p.m. and discovered Ziere Thornton of Indiana allegedly assaulted an unnamed woman. Thornton was charged with assault and harassment and was taken to Indiana County Jail to await arraignment.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE-INDIANA
State police have charged a man from Michigan for retail theft following an incident earlier this week.
Troopers say around 12:30 Monday morning, they observed 37-year-old Khamh Thawng at the Sheetz along Ben Franklin Road in White Township allegedly placing a 12 oz. bottle of Fireball whiskey into his pants before leaving the store. He was then found drinking said whiskey outside the store and a breathalyzer test revealed Thawng’s Blood Alcohol Content was 0.30. He was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for medical clearance before he was taken for processing. He was later charged with public intoxication and lodged in Indiana County Jail.
Troopers then reported another incident with Thawng the following morning, as around 12:49 a.m. on Tuesday, he allegedly contacted state police at the Indiana barracks with no legitimate purpose. Troopers also say Thawng allegedly told them he would take a bus to leave the state after learning he did not have a valid residence in Pennsylvania. Thawng was later charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
