After undergoing an on-site survey, the Indiana Regional Medical Center recently received its Disease Specific Certification in Primary Stroke and Joint Replacement Surgery from the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality. The certification reflects a hospital’s ability to provide evidence-based best practices with their patient population.
Officials with CIHQ conducted the survey between June 13-15 and during it, surveyors evaluated compliance with evidence-based standards of care developed in consultation with industry health care experts and nationally recognized agencies. They also conducted medical record review, patient care observations, and interviews with patients and hospital staff and leadership.
IRMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Richard Neff highlighted the importance of providing the best care to patients in a news release, and he adds IRMC is quote, “fortunate to have CIHQ as our partner in improving healthcare quality and continue to strive to meet the needs of our patient population.”
