IBPD REPORTS: ASSAULT AT A BAR, PUBLIC INTOXICATION

Police in Indiana Borough have charged a man with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct for an incident outside a bar in late July.  Officers were called out at 2:14 AM on July 23^rd outside an establishment in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street.  The victim reported that as he was leaving the bar, he was attacked by a man later identified as 25-year-old James Ressler of Indiana.  Charges were filed through district judge Guy Haberl’s office.

Charges of public intoxication were filed against a man from Kent for an incident over the weekend.  Indiana Borough Police were dispatched at 7:14 PM to the 300 block of Philadelphia Street on August 4^th to a report of an unresponsive man outside the Sheetz at 4^th and Philadelphia Streets.  The man was later identified as 20-year-old Brian Jones and was allegedly intoxicated by drugs to the point that he was a danger to himself or others.  He was taken into custody, cited for public intoxication and taken to IRMC for evaluation before being held at the Indiana County Jail on a temporary detainer.
