Following the postponement of scheduled contract talks on Friday, the negotiating teams for the State System of Higher Education and APSCUF, the faculty union at IUP and the other state-owned universities, are slated to return to the bargaining table tomorrow and Tuesday.
The two sides have met two dozen times since last October, and the talks have increased in frequency since the end of the academic year in May. Last week, the negotiations centered on retrenchment, grievances, and service.
The most recent contract expired on June 30th. Faculty continue to work under the terms of the old deal.
