A former member of Indiana Borough Council has passed away.
Catherine Hood, better known to many as Kitty, died on Thursday. She served two terms as a member of Indiana Borough Council. The Borough of Indiana posted to its Facebook page that “Kitty’s passion for our community was evident in her commitment to public service and her impactful contributions to literature….Kitty’s legacy in Indiana will be remembered fondly.”
Council President Peter Broad remembered her as a person full of ideas when she came on council and someone who was also detail-oriented.
Hood was also an author. Writing under the name K. Shryock Hood, she wrote “Once Upon a Time in a Dark and Scary Book: The Messages of Horror Literature for Children.” The book was a look at messages found in Contemporary Horror for children and young adults.
Memorial services for Hood have not been announced yet.
