Today will be busy for Indiana County’s court of common pleas with many plea and sentencing hearings on the docket. While most of them deal with DUI-related crimes, one sentencing will deal with a scrap metal theft and the other with meth production.
Court documents show that Gage Eaglehouse of Loyalhanna, who turned 28 four days ago, will be sentenced today for guilty pleas to charges of criminal mischief and possession of an instrument of crime, while a charge of trespass was not prosecuted as part of the deal. This was for an incident on January 31st in Burrell Township when state troopers said he tried to steal copper wiring from a coal tipple and fled on foot. Police followed his footprints in the snow to a railroad track and found him in a wooded area. He was arrested without incident.
In the drug case, 38-year-old David R. Burk pleaded guilty to possession of a precursor ingredient while seven other charges related to the incident on January 13th of 2020 were not prosecuted.
