PennDOT is alerting drivers to some traffic changes that will start tonight for the Route 22 work zone in East Wheatfield Township.
Along with the 10-foot width restriction and the alternating lane closures that are in place, there will be nighttime closures of Route 22 West between McFeaters Road and the Route 403 onramp. Those closures will run from 11 PM to 5 AM each day. The moves are part of the bridge repair project on the Cramer Pike/Route 403 bridge over Route 22.
A full closure of Route 22 eastbound under the structure will begin at the end of the month following the westbound closure. Westbound traffic will be detoured in Ebensburg using U.S. Route 219 North to U.S. Route 422 to U.S. Route 119 South to Blairsville. Eastbound traffic will be detoured using the on and off ramps around the structure.
The project costs $725,000. Allison Park Contracting out of Gibsonia is working on the project.
