Convenience Store chain Sheetz has announced that they are giving customers a break on gas prices for the 4th of July.
For today only, the Altoona-based company will honor the year the Declaration of Independence was signed, 1776, by making gas prices for the day $1.77 and six-tenths of a cent per gallon. This will be for all gas, including their e-85 Ethanol, Standard and Premium unleaded, and their unleaded 88 gas, however those using Diesel will pay the regular rates for their fuel.
Company CEO Travis Sheetz says in a statement that they hope the discount will help customers as they travel to celebrate the 4th of July, “with an obvious nod to our nation’s birthday.” After today, gas prices will go back up to normal prices.
