On top of the fatal crash, first responders were very busy on Tuesday.
Black Lick fire crews were called in for standby detail yesterday at 6:13. They were standing by for Derry fire department as they along with Blairsville and other fire departments were dealing with a fire in a Quonset hut storing hay on a farm in Derry Township. Reports say that the hut and most of the hay was saved thanks to the quick actions of a farmer using some equipment to move hay bales.
Clyde Fire Department was also called in to Westmoreland County to assist with a different fire call at 2:32 PM. One minute after that, Armagh/East Wheatfield fire department was called in for standby detail. They were also called out at 7:31 PM for a vehicle fire on Route 403 south in East Wheatfield Township.
And Commodore fire department was dispatched for a tree down on Dogwood Road in Green Township at 7:57 PM.
