The Indiana School Board will meet tonight, and final passage of the 2023-24 budget will be on the draft agenda.
According to the draft agenda for tonight’s meeting, taxpayers may see an increase in property taxes. The proposed budget has an increase of .31 mils, that would increase taxes to 15.67 mils, meaning that for each $100 of assessed property value, the tax would be $1.567. The budget comes to $64,060,839.
In other business, the board will consider many extra duty-extra pay assignments, consider approving Student Assistance Program agreements with the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission and with the Community Guidance Center, and approve the installation of 41 vape detectors at the Junior and Senior high schools.
The meeting starts at 7:00 at the Senior High Upper Commons. The meetings are being held there as repairs are being made at the East Pike and District Office Complex.
