A PA House Republican Policy Committee meeting is scheduled to be held today in Homer City concerning the state’s energy policy.
The meeting will be held today at the Homer City Fire Hall on Church Street starting at 10 AM. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the status of Pennsylvania’s energy policy and how to leverage the state’s energy resources for an economic boom to avoid an economic bust. The hearing will be hosted by State Representative Jim Struzzi, who says that Indiana County has become a focal point for how the state should move forward. Struzzi said that the hearing will examine how Pennsylvania can remain as a top electricity exporter, how the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative is impacting the economy and the energy landscape in general. Struzzi said he would like to see a balanced energy portfolio that includes everything from natural resources to renewables.
The hearing will be open to the public.
