Later this month, deer hunting licenses will go on sale, and the process to purchase one has changed.
According to a law passed earlier this year, the first round of deer licenses will go on sale on Monday, June 26th at 8 AM, and that will be for state residents only. Antlerless deer licenses will be available alongside the general hunting and fur-taker licenses, along with other licenses, permits and privileges. That same law has also eliminated the mail-in method of purchasing licenses. Licenses will only be available through online sales or by going to a license-issuing agent. Licenses can be purchased in-person at over 650 locations across the state. In Indiana County, a license can be purchased at the Indiana County Treasurer’s Office, many big box retailers that have a sporting department, gun shops, sporting goods stores or the Game Commission’s Southwest Region Office.
The other option is to purchase the license online. That can be done through the game commission’s website, http://www.pgc.pa.gov/
