BILL AIMING TO PROTECT PRESCRIPTION PROGRAMS PASSES SENATE

A bill geared towards protecting older Pennsylvanians from losing access to two state prescription programs recently gained Senate approval.

Senator Joe Pittman announced in a Facebook post that Senate Bill 607 was passed on Monday. The bill ensures older Pennsylvanians do not lose access to two key medication programs: PACE and PACENET. Judy Ward, Senator of the 30^th legislative district, first introduced the bill and Pittman called it an “important measure to protect PACE and PACENET participants who may be pushed beyond the eligibility limits, due solely to a cost-of-living increase in Social Security payments.”

Senate Bill 607 now heads to the House for consideration.
