State police arrested an Allegheny County woman following an incident Friday morning in White Township. Troopers say around 10:11 a.m., they were informed by the K-9 unit at SCI Pine Grove that a visitor, later identified as 42-year-old Shonta Hester of Braddock, allegedly had narcotics and drug paraphernalia on their person while visiting an inmate. No word if Hestor was charged.
State police released more information regarding an incident at the Indiana Regional Medical Center on May 29. Troopers say they responded to reports of a girl, identified only as a 17-year-old from Johnstown, with a knife and pepper spray around 4:43 p.m. Police were able to get the girl to put down the knife after talking with her, but as they tried controlling the situation, she allegedly pepper sprayed one of the officers.
She was later placed in the care of IRMC, and a juvenile allegation was filed with the Indiana County Juvinile Probation department.
