At their meeting Wednesday afternoon, the White Township Supervisors approved to pursue a downed tree assessment in a portion of the township.
The assessment came from Mike Tyree who noticed several downed trees in Whites Woods, and Township Manager Chris Anderson said it turned up several control factors if the canopy is opened, like planting trees with protective barriers or a small fenced area. He also talked about the end goal from this assessment.
The motion to pursue this matter passed unanimously.
In other business, Supervisors approved a motion to purchase 600 square yards of flooring for the S&T Bank Arena. The cost of the flooring comes out to approximately $29,680.13. Supervisors also approved the annual Fourth of July fireworks display at Mack Park. The event will start at 9:40 p.m. If weather interferes, the display will take place the following evening.
