Two vehicle accidents and a barn fire were reported yesterday by Indiana county 911.
No new details have been released by state police about the crash in Cherryhill Township originally reported at 7:45 yesterday morning. A tri-axle truck and a passenger vehicle crashed into each other nearly head-on near Pike’s Peak Nursery along Route 422 East near the intersection with North Harmony Road. One person had to be airlifted from the scene to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Cherryhill Township Firefighters, State Police and Citizens’ Ambulance were initially dispatched, and the county HAZMAT team was called out a few minutes later to help contain liquid spilled from the truck.
A barn fire was also reported Wednesday morning at 9:47 AM at a farm on Stephenson Road in West Mahoning Township. Initial scanner reports said that the fire was out by the time the first firefighter teams arrived. Plumville, Marion Center, Perry and Dayton fire crews were called to the scene along with the RIT team and Citizens’ Ambulance. No other details are available on the fire.
The only other call was for a vehicle accident this morning on Route 22 East in East Wheatfield Township. Armagh/East Wheatfield township fire department and State Police were called out at 1:30 this morning. Details on the crash have not been released.
