A Blairsville man was arrested following an incident of retail theft on Wednesday.
Blairsville Borough Police say they were informed by an unnamed person that 50-year-old Brian Swanlek had allegedly stolen beer from the Sheetz along East Market Street at an unspecified time. Officers determined Swanlek took the beer without paying for it after reviewing surveillance footage, and they later found him at the intersection of East Market and North Brady Streets with the stolen beer. A background check also revealed that Swanlek had several bench warrants out of Armstrong County.
Swanlek was lodged in Indiana County Jail in lieu of the bench warrants and is awaiting arraignment for charges of retail theft.
