At least one person was hurt in a crash this morning in Cherryhill Township.
Cherryhill Township firefighters, Citizens’ Ambulance and state police were summoned around 7:45 this morning for a near head-on crash involving a passenger car and a tri-axle truck near Pike’s Peak Nursery along Route 422 East and North Harmony Road. The county Hazmat team was also called in 15 minutes later for leaking fluids.
Cherryhill Fire Chief Jody Rainey said the two vehicles collided as the passenger vehicle hit the driver’s side of the truck near the intersection. Both vehicles were about 100 feet apart following the crash.
One person suffered injuries and was lifeflighted to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. State police are investigating.
