UPDATE: Creekside Fire Chief Cody Hitchings says that the 35-foot Fifth Wheel camper was fully involved by the time his crew arrived. One person was taken to ACMH in Kittanning for a medical condition, but it is not known if it is connected with the fire. The cause is not yet known, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
Fire departments were busy this morning with two fires this morning. One of those was near Smicksburg and the other in Creekside.
Indiana County 911 reports that the first fire was called in at 1:38 this morning for Private Road 6026 near Smicksburg. Initial reports said that the fire was at a sawmill in the area. Plumville, Dayton and Perry Township fire departments along with Citizens’ Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
The second call was for a working camper fire on Barks Hill Road in Creekside. Creekside and Plumville fire departments and Citizens’ Ambulance were called in at 3:27 AM to help Elderton Fire Department, with Indiana Fire Association members called in about 20 minutes later to assist.
Details on the fires have not been released yet.
