An Indiana man waived a preliminary hearing last week and will go to the county court of common pleas for charges of drug trafficking.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that 42-year-old Waylon Strange was arrested in connection with a drug investigation that started on March 1st. Members of the Indiana Borough Police and the county Drug Task Force conducted a controlled buy of methamphetamine from Strange on that day utilizing a confidential informant. At the preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Suzanne Steffee on May 30th, Strange waived his arraignment on a charge of manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
In a statement, Manzi said that the law enforcement community is working “every day to conduct high-quality investigations and produce quality cases that result in convictions,” and that his office will continue to target drug dealers as long as they continue to do business in Indiana County.
Strange remains in Indiana County Jail on $45,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 4th for a criminal call hearing.
