Committee re-organizations continued this week in Harrisburg and one area representative took on a new role because of it.
In his recent newsletter, State Representative Jim Struzzi announced that he, along with Senators Gene Yaw and Jim Brewster along State Representative Frank Burns, will serve as co-chairs of the Legislative Coal Caucus for the 2023-24 session.
The Caucus is a bipartisan, bicameral entity that focuses on supporting and enhancing Pennsylvania’s coal mining industry and serves as a forum through which legislators can become more educated about the industry itself and its economic value to local communities, manufacturers, and energy ratepayers.
Struzzi called the appointment “an honor” and said he is “more than happy to go to bat for this still-abundant natural resource that must be part of Pennsylvania’s future in a balanced energy portfolio.”
Currently, more than 60 members serve on the Coal Caucus.
