The construction for the tallest cross in Pennsylvania wrapped up on Wednesday.
Jack Lucas, pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church, announced in a Facebook post that construction of the cross just outside of the church building is now complete and can be viewed from different points across Indiana County, including Routes 422 and 119. Ground work is expected to continue in the near future.
Initial construction started Wednesday, May 24th, and took a little over a week to complete. The work was made possible through monetary and physical donations and volunteer work from those among the congregation.
Lucas talked about when he expects the complete project to wrap up.
The cross stands 108-feet high and 70-feet wide, marking the largest cross in the state.
