BASEBALL
The District 6 Double-A baseball playoffs get underway today with a number of games involving Heritage Conference teams, including the number seven Homer-Center Wildcats, who get things going early with a noon first pitch at number two seed Mount Union. The game is being played at noon because of Mount Union’s prom, which is tonight.
The other games all begin at four. Number three Marion Center will host number six West Branch. Number four Northern Cambria welcomes number five Richland. And number eight United travels to play top seed Bald Eagle.
Double-A softball starts on Monday.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Indiana’s season came to a close with a 16-2 playoff loss to Blackhawk. Mia Piocquidio scored five goals for the Cougars.
