Troopers today are continuing to investigate threats made against River Valley School District.
On May 16, 2023 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Troop A, Indiana was notified by River Valley School District, 102 School Lane, Burrell Township, Indiana County, that some of their students had received a threatening phone call from an unknown person. During these phone calls, the suspect threatened to commit an act of violence against River Valley School District.
A criminal investigation was immediately initiated and, out of an abundance of caution, members of the Troop A, Indiana Patrol Unit, were present at River Valley School District today as a visible deterrent and to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Based upon interviews and information gathered overnight and during the course of the investigation today, troopers do not believe there is an imminent or ongoing threat to River Valley School District.
