IUP continued to rebuild the nest on Friday after landing six-foot guard Garvin Clarke, a transfer from Akron. Clarke played 24 games with the Zips last season and helped them to a 22-11 overall record, a 13-5 conference record, and an appearance in the MAC semifinal game. He shot 28 percent from the floor and 69 percent from the free throw line.
Clarke’s personal accolades include playing for the Bahamas National Team in 2021 and 2022, and posting 11 points in the 2022 MAC Championship game. Clarke joins Butler County native Anthony Watson as the only two commits for IUP so far.
IUP announced the commitment in a tweet Friday morning.
