At last night’s meeting, Indiana Borough Council approved a Pride event to be held in June at IRMC Park
Many people spoke in favor of the event during the public comment section of the meeting, with many saying it would be a benefit to the community. That included Theresa Arnette, who said that it would show that Indiana is a welcoming community.
Approval for the event was granted by an 11-1 vote, with Jessica Frick voting against the measure. She said that while she believed the police would be able to protect people against any uncertainty, the security plans for the festival were not clear to her.
The event will be held June 10th from 10 AM to 6 PM.
In other business, the Council also approved a motion to award the paving contract to Quaker Sales, Inc. at a cost of $196,150.
