Blairsville Borough Police have charged an Oil City man with sexual-related crimes following a two-month investigation.
Officers say 27-year-old Zechariah Lemke was charged with rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, simple assault, and harassment following an investigation that dates back to February 26th.
On that day, officers began investigating a rape allegation after a woman informed them that she allegedly met with a man in Blairsville after the two talked on social media. An arrest warrant was obtained on April 21st and, two days later, Lemke was arrested after state police conducted a traffic stop on his car along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Lemke was arraigned in Somerset County and released on $50,000 bond. He was then arraigned in front of Magisterial Judge Robert Bell on Thursday and later released on bond under the same conditions.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 10th.
